What is reaction?

Defin
ition

Reactivity is the ability of the brain to react to an external stimulus within a very short time. It includes the perception and processing of information (reaction time) as well as the execution of motor skills (motor time).

Short reaction times help us to brake in time in traffic and avoid accidents. In sports, quick reactions in ball and game sports are crucial for success, and in professional life too, quick reactions increase our productivity and ability to adapt to new situations.

Responsiveness

Develo
pment

We reach our fastest reactions between the ages of 15 and 20, which is earlier than for many other cognitive abilities. As we age, simple reactions slow down by around 1.5 ms per year, whereas choice reactions slow down by as much as 5.7 ms per year. Accordingly, performance in sports and work decreases, while the risk of accidents increases.

An active lifestyle and training can maintain and even improve reaction time. The SKILLCOURT will help you with this.

trained

On the SKILLCOURT

To improve reaction time, training on the SKILLCOURT requires quick reactions and decisions. The faster the reaction is carried out, the more points are achieved in the training. Special training for the simple reaction and choice reaction covers a wide range of applications of reaction time in everyday life and sports.

Simple reaction

Responses to a single sensory stimulus, without choice.

Choice reaction

Deciding on one of several possible courses of action.

Each exercise on the SKILLCOURT also includes training in reaction time (time between stimulus and reaction) and motor time (time to execute the movement). Both components are crucial for performance, success, and health. Training together also improves the transfer from training to everyday life. To check the success of the training, the SKILLCOURT also contains a special diagnostic reaction test for analysing the ability to react.

FA
Qs

How does SKILLCOURT help me improve my reactions?

Reaction training on the SKILLCOURT requires the fastest possible perception and processing of stimuli and their conversion into a motor response. This challenge trains the brain to speed up reaction time.

Can SKILLCOURT training help improve responsiveness in traffic or other safety-related situations?

Yes.

Faster reactions are crucial for safety in road traffic. If dangerous situations are recognized quickly enough and the motor reaction is carried out, the brakes can be braked in time and an accident avoided. Faster reactions through training on the SKILLCOURT can help reduce the risk of accidents in road traffic and other areas.

What types of exercises does SKILLCOURT offer to improve reaction?

The SKILLCOURT includes exercises for training simple and choice reactions. With single response training, you have to respond to a stimulus with the same response, while choice response training also requires a decision. This covers a variety of situations in everyday life and sports. The following exercises on the SKILLCOURT specifically train your ability to react:

– Decision Pro
– Skipping
– Memorise forms

What specific advantages does training responsiveness on SKILLCOURT bring in everyday life?

In addition to safety in everyday life, reaction speed also plays a special role in sports and professional success. Quick reactions help us to brake in time in traffic, to recognise situations early in sports, and to react quickly to challenges at work. Improving reaction times through training on the SKILLCOURT can therefore increase both performance and health.

Can SKILLCOURT test my reaction?

Yes, SKILLCOURT includes a special reaction test to analyse the ability to react.
