What is
concent
ration?

Concentration is the brain’s ability to focus on relevant information in the environment and block out distractions. We often find the term “attention” as a synonym for concentration.

The better we can concentrate, the easier it is for us to focus on important tasks over longer periods of time, to remember information, to avoid distractions, and to perform multiple tasks in parallel. Whether in everyday life, job, sports or school, a good ability to concentrate is crucial to achieve our goals.

Changes throughout of life

Why does concent
ration decrease?

We achieve the best concentration performance between the ages of about 20-30. In the course of aging, however, this performance capacity continuously decreases due to neurological changes. Stress, diseases (e.g. ADHD) as well as environmental factors such as nutrition or lack of sleep can have an additional negative impact on the ability to concentrate. Concentration problems are the result.

However, with the right training we can counteract this development and improve concentration. The SKILLCOURT helps you to do this.

Concentration describes the brain’s ability to perceive and process relevant information and ignore distractions. Directing concentration as well as blocking out distractions always work together.

In addition, a distinction is made between different degrees of concentration:

– Concentration over longer periods of time (sustained attention)
– Concentration on details (selective attention)
– Attention to multiple tasks (divided attention)

Concentration training on SKILLCOURT includes a series of exercises that address different levels of concentration. Through different levels, the exercises are adapted to the performance level.

Exercises on SKILLCOURT include specific training for maintaining concentration (sustained attention), grasping details (selective attention), processing information simultaneously (divided attention), and tuning out distractions (inhibition). The following exercises are particularly well suited for concentration training:

– Chase 1
– Chase 2
– Escape
– Eagle Eye
– Remember Forms
– Remember Forms Plus
– Shape Jump

Concentration training on SKILLCOURT is embedded in the VIKOMOTORIK™ concept and includes visual and motor tasks in addition to the concentration task. This approach was developed to optimize the training effects in the brain for transfer to everyday life.

Yes, exercises for concentration can be adapted in their difficulty to the needs of the trainee via the level system. Therefore, even with already existing concentration problems can be trained effectively with SKILLCOURT.

In everyday life, we need to use our concentration effectively to master a wide variety of challenges on the road, at home or at work. The better our ability to concentrate is developed, the more effectively and successfully we work in these situations. Concentration training on SKILLCOURT can support this.
